Maharet and Mekare

This was meant to be a draft picture of the vampires Maharet and Mekare, twins from the Anne rice chronicles. I was going to do a coloured version latter. But half way though drawing them I realised I drew them way too young but I still like how it turned out…well how the left twin turned out any way.

Heres a brief history of Maharet and Mekare for those who don’t know:
The vampires, Maharet and twin sister Mekare are 6000 years old. These twins lived in ancient Egypt at the same time as Akasha and Enkil (rulers of Egypt). They were part of a long line of witches, which were somewhat well known in their village. They spoke to spirits, both good and bad. For one of their traditions, which was to eat the remains of their dead, the Queen ordered that Maharet's eyes be torn our and Mekare's tongue be cut out and for Maharet to be raped by her sevent Khayman. Before this horrible punishment Maharet asked one of the most evil spirits of them all to punish Akasha (a spirit that loved to prick thousand of holes in people and lick there blood, for pure fun and taste). The spirit entered her body and took hold of it, making her the first vampire in the world. With an incredible thirst Akasha “turned” her husband Enkil and Khayman. Khayman felt a deep sorrow for these twins and made them vampires. Maharet and Mekare were separated by the queen’s orders and didn't meet again until 6000 years later when Akasha rose from her sleep to rule the world. Maharet and Mekare are tall with long red curly hair with green eyes. Maharet, however, needs to steal her victim’s eyes to see, so she always has different coloured eyes. Mekare's tongue was taken from her by Akasha so she probably takes tongues from her victims.
