Graduation
Graduation was on the 24.03.09. The ceremony went well. But I did have a mini melt down just before entering the stage. My cap dropped out of my hands – and with my quick cat like reflexes I caught it by the tassel – then *snap* off comes the tassel. I freaked out! What is a graduation cap with out a tassel?! Just a weird, strange, square, flat hat. But luckily with Dee’s MacGyver skills, she managed to tie the tassel onto the cap just before I went on stage. Unfortunately I ran across the stage because I was scared the tassel will fall off – ruining all of my mum’s photo opportunities.
But the day wasn’t a complete loss. I got my Diploma for one, and I had professional photos taken with my mum. I also got a call that I could move into a new flat that I applied for that day, and its completely refurnished! All in all it was a pretty good day.

As a recent graduate from the Bachelor of Applied Visual Imaging, at UCOL, Palmerston North. I, Jessica McKenzie, am currently seeking full time employment as a graphic designer. My education and work experience in Graphic Design has enabled me to gain an understanding of design principles, printing processes, and various computer software.

2016 update
Well, the biggest thing to update is: I’m a mum!
I have a beautiful baby girl (well toddler now, as she is a year and a half). She has the most amazing personality. She is very cheeky and loves animals and painting. Very much a mini me.
I’m still working at the same place. Into my 6th year there now and I still love it. I’ve been doing a lot of awesome jobs lately.
I’m still at the circus school. I worked out all throughout my pregnancy and had about 6 months off after birth. I have lost a lot of my strength! I was surprised how long it took me to get back to where I was! But in saying that I don’t have the ti
2014 update
I'm no longer saving for that house, my husband and I have a nice 3 bedroom house to call our own. I love it here and can’t wait to update it and style it to our own taste. At the moment the house is very 70's.
I'm still going to the circus school. I've made some great friends and am the fittest I have ever been in my life. I hope to keep this up so that I can do the more extreme tricks that my tutor can do.
I have little to no time now to make the toys or do any paintings. At this stage my creativity outlet is purely my job. Which I now other designers out there will tell out is severely limiting. But I've had some great projects
Time for my yearly journal update
Wedding life is going well. After saving up for the wedding, we can now finally save up for a house!
I'm back to sewing toys. They are still in the prototype stage...but hopefully I will be loading some photos up soon. I will be selling all of the toys I make this time because we need all the help we can get with saving for the house.
Its been a while since I've uploaded work so I've decided to load some work I did through work.
In other news I've joined a circus school. I'm doing contortion to start with. Its so much fun! I wish I started years ago.

In my last journal I said it may be a while till my next update…I wasn't expecting that it would be more then a year and a half!
A lot has happened in that time. Biggest of all is I've gotten married!
Chris and I got married on the 1st of September (first day of spring) and we couldn't have asked for a better day. The sun was shinning and not a thing went wrong with the wedding.
Work is still going well. So much so we even hired someone new to join the team. So there's 5 of us now.
With work and wedding planning I haven't had much time to design my own things or take my own photos lately, so I apologise for the lack of activity. H
